2nd week of August update from Mountain Goblin Farms! All have officially entered flower mode and are beginning their stretch—setting the stage for some serious weight gain in the coming weeks. This week was all about simplicity: no nutrients, just clean irrigation water, as I had to step away to visit my sister. The garden is a vibrant lineup including Orange CreamPop, Lemon Skunk, Blueberry Muffin, Banana Blaze, CollieMan Kush, OG Trip, Capt Junkie, Member Berry, Sundae Driver, and Papaya Pancakes. Good morning,

In this video, I provide several quick updates on some of my cannabis plants.
I have a 2×2 tent indoors flowering with 2 CASCADIA SATAY feminized plants. These are grown under the VIPARSPECTRE 1500 PRO light with VIVOSUN fans moving air around inside the grow space. There is a 4 in ventilation fan and exhaust system working as well. These plants are in 3 gallon TALL fabric pots and are in Miracle Gro soil (Yes, I said it- Miracle Gro) with dry amendments added. This soil is actually good and I would def use it again/recommend it. I will put a link in here if anyone is interested.

In addition to the indoor Cascadia’s, I have some Cascadia’s growing outdoors as well.
It was raining out so I moved quickly but they are growing nicely and are going to be HUGE BUSHES come the fall at this rate. These are in Coast Of Maine Bar Harbor blend soil outdoors with dry amendments (Earthworm castings- I use the Coast of Maine ones but you can use any brand, Stonington Blend from Coast Of Maine and Dr. Earth Flower girl- I will put links here as well in case anyone needs em). They go pretty nat-u-rale mostly- sunlight, rainwater and 1x per month top dressings. I do trim and train them and also spray for bugs 2x per month (using Growers Ally Crop Defender 3- stuff is amazing and I will link it here as well). I have some in a greenhouse and some not –just want to try it both ways. They are doing well though at this point.

All are grown in HP PROMIX with the same dry amendments mentioned above under the SPIDER FARMER G4500 LED bar style light. Amazing light – I love it! I have 4 oscillating fans inside there as well to move air around and an AC INFINITY exhaust system. I currently am running a SPIDER FARMER DEHUMIDIFIER to battle some high RH I had in the beginning of flower. This thing saved my ass big time- if I did not have this then my grow would have been f*cked. I also have a heater and a humidifier in there but those are not running now –but for VEG — I def use both of them. I plan to harvest these on Sunday May 11 but the trichomes will let me know if I can or not!

Good morning,

In this video, I provide an update on both the Cascadia indoor and outdoor plants along with the Royal Queen Seeds 4X2 flowering tent.

In the 4X2, I have 8 photoperiod plants from Royal Queen Seeds. 3 Dynamite Diesels (From Mike Tyson’s seed line), 2 OG Kush plants, 2 Blue Mystics and 1 Cookies Gelato. These are all feminized seeds and were flipped to flower on 3/10/25. They are all grown in HP Promix and there are dry amendments in the soil (I use Earthworm castings, Dr. Earth Flower Girl and Coast Of Maine Stonington blend nutrients). Then I use FOOP to feed the plants throughout the life cycle.

Outdoors, I have 2 Cascadia Satay feminized seeds. These were started indoors and now have been moved outside to bask in the sun. I will veg them all the way until the fall 2025 harvest so they should be HUGE! The 2 remaining Cascadia plants are indoors in the 2×2 which I flipped to flower on 4/20 (not by choice lol just by coincidence). They are under the Viparspectre 1500Pro light and all were super cropped to allow more light and air penetration to the center of the plant. They are doing well at this time but no signs of flowering or stretching yet (give it a few days it’ll happen).

All good at this point and it just now is regular feeding, watering and defoliating.

Using these methods should allow you to store healthy cannabis seeds for upwards of ten years, and possibly even longer (we have heard of people germinating their seeds successfully after thirty years using these methods so take that as you will).

As mentioned in the video you could also put your seeds into a fridge but it typically isn’t necessary.

After some miscues with germinating cannabis seeds directly in Rapid Rooter seed starting plugs I decided to switch up my the methodology in which I germinate.

Germination Method:

– Soak seeds in a cup of purified or distilled water for roughly 30 hours. By 30 hours the seed should have split open and a small white taproot will become visible. If the seed has not opened you can allow the seed to stay in the water for up to 48 hours, however, leaving the seeds in water longer than 2-3 days can risk drowning of seeds.

– Once the seed has cracked and the white taproot is visible, the entire cup of water with the opened seeds in it should be poured over a few folded paper towels into a lidded container. Excess moisture must be removed as you do not want the seeds to be sitting in a puddle of water. Make sure that the paper towels stay moist but not completely soaking wet. Close up the container and place it in a warm dark place. I usually wrap the container in a black bag and place it on a heating mat. If the seed is already showing a taproot when placed in the container then it should take only another 24 hours for the taproot to grow to 1 cm long and become ready for transplant.

– Using tweezers, gently grab the seed with the taproot hanging out making sure to never touch the actual root. I grab the seed & taproot which now look like a sperm and transplant then into my growing medium with the tail facing down. Personally I use rooting plugs which get cut open to make transplant easier and then cover the top hole by a tiny piece of the Rooter plug.

– Once the sperm looking seed & tail are transplanted into the plugs they will then break the surface between 12 – 24 hours.

***Since moving to this method of seed germination I have had a 100% Germination rate!!!
