In the blink of an eye, weed became legal in nearly all American states. But, it’s not the typical weed you think of… yet, it’s still the same exact thing. It’s called “THCa”, a hemp-derived cannabinoid that technically doesn’t get you high, but does once you smoke it. Hearing this raises some (obvious) questions: What exactly is THCa? How is it legal nearly everywhere if it’s the same thing as weed? How did it become legal in the first place? Is it safe to consume, and will it be around for much longer?
This is the story of THCa and how a subtle (and arguably genius) loophole granted millions upon millions of Americans access to smoking weed, even though weed is still banned.

In our latest TDR Cannabis in Five presented by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales breaks down one of the biggest takeaways from this week’s DEA Administrative Law Judge hearing: the federal conversation around cannabis is becoming much more focused on medicine.
For the first time during the hearing, the FDA publicly acknowledged under oath that cannabis has accepted medical uses while also comparing its safety profile to alcohol and opioids. The testimony offered new insight into how federal health officials are evaluating cannabis as the rescheduling process continues.
Shadd also explains why this matters beyond Schedule III. As regulators, healthcare providers and policymakers continue discussing where cannabinoids fit into modern medicine, attention is increasingly shifting toward pharmaceutical-grade products, standardized dosing, physician oversight and value-based care.
The episode also looks at how companies working in the cannabinoid medicine space could fit into that changing healthcare landscape, why consistency and clinical data matter, and what some of the early lessons from cannabinoid pilot programs may tell us moving forward.
As the ALJ hearing continues, one theme is becoming increasingly clear: the conversation is no longer centered solely on legalization. It’s increasingly becoming about where cannabinoids fit inside the U.S. healthcare system, and how that transition could change the next phase of the industry.

A new law in Georgia allows for the sale of a wider variety of marijuana products at medical cannabis dispensaries, including marijuana vapes and leaf marijuana for vaporization at home. The law also adds lupus to the list of conditions for which medical marijuana can be prescribed. The CEO of Botanical Sciences Dispensary, which grows marijuana in Georgia, said that the expanded program would allow patients to get relief quickly, and dismissed criticism that it would lead to more addiction and cannabis use disorder. Patients must get authorization from a doctor to purchase medical marijuana.

Best Climate For Sour Diesel
Sour Diesel grows best in sunny, warm areas. Growers consider it a difficult strain to cultivate outdoors because it’s prone to powdery mildew. If you want to grow outside you want a dry and hot climate. The less humidity, the better.
If growing indoors, you are going to want to use high-intensity lights in a dry, sterile room. Indoors it’s easy to keep the plant compact and, on average, takes about 10 weeks for flowering. Outdoors these ladies can get big (think Brienne of Tarth big). If you have the right climate, go for it! These big ladies produce massive yields.
