To get the best possible quality of cannabis buds, you need to start your plants off by preparing the soil and fabric pots.

Before embarking on this soil preparation journey, make sure you have the necessary materials at hand:

Water

1. Place a 2-inch layer of perlite at the bottom of your fabric pot. Perlite improves drainage and aeration, preventing waterlogged soil and ensuring the roots have access to oxygen.
2. Prepare a Slurry Test as Instructed
3. Premoisten the soil using .13 times the volume of soil in water that is pH balanced to better hit your target.
4. Mix, mix mix and mix, when you think you’re done mixing, mix again.
5. Add premixed soil to your pots, do NOT compress and let this moist soil brew for at least 7 days.

Hunting for the perfect cannabis strain involves considering various factors that contribute to its overall quality and effects. This video is intended to show you how different cannabis strains grow under the same conditions and the variances in quality and how to choose the best strain to breed based on the grow results. By evaluating the terpene profile, frost level/THC content, bud structure, stem structure, and yield, you can refine your search and find strains that align with your preferences, needs, and cultivation capabilities. Remember, the ideal strain is subjective and can vary depending on individual preferences, desired effects, and intended use.

Every year I do a massive hunt and instead of phenos, I grow out multiple strains to try to find the best ones. Instead of a seed to harvest, I’m only going to show you the final results and rate and review each strain based on the following:

1. Terpenes:

Terpenes are the aromatic compounds found in cannabis that contribute to its distinctive flavors and scents. Each strain possesses a unique terpene profile, which influences its effects and therapeutic benefits. Some common terpenes include Limonene, Myrcene, Pinene, and Linalool. Understanding the terpene composition can help you identify strains that align with your desired effects, such as relaxation, focus, or pain relief. Researching and experimenting with different terpene profiles can lead you to your preferred cannabis strain.

2. Frost Level/THC:

The frost level, often indicated by the amount of visible trichomes, gives an idea of the strain’s potency. Trichomes are the resinous glands that contain cannabinoids, including THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Strains with high levels of frost tend to have a higher THC content, which can result in stronger psychoactive effects. However, it’s essential to find a balance between THC levels and your tolerance to avoid overwhelming experiences. Novice users might prefer strains with lower THC levels, while experienced users may seek potent strains for specific therapeutic purposes.

3. Bud Structure:

Bud structure refers to the physical appearance of the cannabis flowers. The structure can vary from dense and compact buds to loose and fluffy ones. Dense buds typically indicate higher cannabinoid concentration and resin production. However, different bud structures can also affect the smokeability, flavor, and burn of the strain. While personal preferences play a role, it’s worth noting that well-cured, properly trimmed buds generally provide a more enjoyable smoking or vaping experience.

4. Stem Structure:

The stem structure of cannabis plants can provide valuable insights into their overall health and growth patterns. Sturdy stems with a thick diameter often indicate robust plants that can support heavy buds. Conversely, weak or spindly stems might suggest issues with plant health, nutrient deficiencies, or poor genetics. Examining the stem structure can help you identify strains that are more likely to thrive during cultivation and produce desirable yields.

5. Yield:

Yield refers to the amount of usable cannabis a strain can produce during cultivation. Some strains are known for their high yields, while others may have lower yields but offer exceptional quality. The desired yield may depend on personal preferences, available space for cultivation, and the intended use of the harvested cannabis. If you’re growing your own cannabis, researching the expected yield of different strains can help you maximize your efforts and achieve your cultivation goals.

What up Cannabis Growers and welcome back to GreenBox Grown.  So today we are going to start a new video series and this is actually something that I haven’t done before. So what we are going to do is have my girlfriend Claire here, who is actually never grown cannabis before. She is going to do her very own grow series. So all she is going to be using for her grow resources or for her grow guidance as she is going to be using my step by step grow videos from our premium content section. And yeah it is going to be her very first time growing and she’s going to be doing this all by herself. So do you want to tell them what strain you are going to be growing?

Yeah so I am going to be germinating five seeds but we will pick the best two out of five, and I am going to be using a 2 by 4 tent, and Chemdawg is the one. Ya so we are going to be growing Chemdawg by the iLoveMarijuana seed bank. So yeah she is going to be in that to buy for tent and she was going to have the 600 watt light going. We are probably actually going to germinate three of the seeds, we have 5 total but she is only going to be growing 2 Total plant so we are going to pick the two best from those three.

Or maybe we will germinate for just depends on what we go with, but yeah she is going to be using the 2 gallon or I’m sorry that the 3 gallon air pots. She has the fox farm ocean forest soil going and then the dirty dozen by Fox Farm for nutrients. The beginning process is more difficult just because you are learning new things and trying to grasp a very delicate process. Because it is almost like as precious as something that can fall out of or into crumbles into seconds. And you don’t want a 140 day process to crumble, so just trying to recognize and realize the responsibility of that. So the difficulty maybe in the beginning was getting to know terminology and efficiency and why and how. And it wasn’t difficult that’s just something that is needing to be learned for anyone that’s a new to Growing. It just takes a little bit of time.

What’s easier than I thought was just the transplanting process. I thought it was going to be a bigger ordeal than it was but once they start having the stems are supported. And the leaves are looking healthy, it is a lot more motivating and a lot more uplifting to see that okay it is moving along. Yeah it gets easier I think as it grows and stabilizes more and as you take care of it and get on a schedule and a routine. So the germination and the seed process is definitely more difficult because you have to watch out for more quality control and more versus now it is more nurturing the plant.

Which is kind of touch and go, so it is a lot easier than I thought afterwards. Cool, so all right guys that concludes the first step in this grow series and like I was saying we will be back shortly for the next update, which is going to be Week 1 of vegetation. Until then…

What up GreenBox Growers and welcome back for Week 1 of vegetation for Cody’s Agent Orange beginner grow series. So yeah this week we are going to continue with the watering and nutrient schedule that we’ve been on, we are going to be keeping that same light schedule, we may eventually turn up the power on the lighting just a bit. But we will take that one by ear. And then other than that we might do some LST training in the near future as well, possibly this week. But again you just want to take it day by day. Alright see you at now that you guys know what we are doing and today’s video, let’s get started with day 1 of the week!

Alright hey guys here we are 24 hours later after the transplant, and as you can see the plants have taken really well to it. They don’t look stressed out and they look normal and healthy and thriving so good results and it has been 24 hours also since their first watering. And the soil still looks just a little damp and I felt it with my finger and it is a little damp underneath the surface so today we are just going to be doing a good old misting.

And you are just going to keep doing this to two three times a day like you have been. Some downward, looks good. And then as far as the lighting guys, we are going to keep it where it asks right now for a little bit, but as these guys start to grow more and more we are going to turn up the power just a little bit gradually. Or I guess we will see you here for the next update.

Okay guys here we are again a day later, the plants are looking good let’s check the soil. It is still moist just beneath the surface or we are not going to water them, we are just going to do a misting today. And it looks like in a week, we are going to be able to do some low-stress training on these guys. But we will play that by ear and we will see how these guys do for the next week. All right we will see you next time guys.

Hey guys here we are the three of the week, we are getting ready to do our second plain watering for these plants since the first nutrient feeding. They are looking really good today, it seems like they are getting more nodes going and another set of leaves each. So we are going to give them some water now, we will give them a misting as well afterwards but for now we’re just giving them a watering.

And remember we want to do three of these plain waterings per nutrient feeding. So do one nutrients feeding and then follow it with three of these playing waterings. And then another nutrient feeding and so on.  And you don’t want to get this wet all the way to the edge of the pot, but you do want to get it decently far out because that is going to encourage root growth. Okay I think that’s fair, and then we will do one over here and I think I need to get some more water so I’ll be right back with you guys.  All right guys so that concludes the watering and we will be back in 24 hours for day 4 of the week, later.

Alright GreenBox Growers, so that concludes Week 1 of vegetation for the agent orange beginner grow series by Cody. And now that we have done that first round of LST, we are going to see a lot of New Rapid growth and all directions so that will be fun to watch. And just a reminder you guys always keep track of things, especially like your first round of LST in your grow Journal. I can’t tell you how much it has helped me, just keeping track of things helps me get and the Rhythm a lot quicker and it reminds you a lot more of what you are doing like the mistings, you know how long you should water Etc. And yeah it is also really useful to look back at your old journals from previous grows just to see how you fixed different issues that you might  experience with your current grow. Alright folks so we are out here in my garage where we have two of my current grows going, and we are going to be covering Step 1 of this grow guide which is of course selecting the location of your grow. So the first step to that is deciding are we going to be doing an indoor grow or an outdoor grow? Now if you do decide to do outdoor a highly recommend going with a green house because that is going to be the best way to prevent any issues such as pests or mold from getting on the plants and messing up your yields. Now you will also want to have a place that is going to have a lot of direct sunlight for that grow. Because in a greenhouse, obviously you can have supplemental lighting hanging up in there by having grow lights in the tent.

But you want to be mainly using that Sun, so be sure to pick an area that is outside and direct sunlight for most of the day, if you don’t have that then I would highly suggest and recommend growing indoors.  Now the other reason I really like indoors is I feel I can get better quality results. And here is actually a current grow that I’m doing right now, a photoperiod grow. But I find it is a lot easier to maintain your plants actually because you do not have to counteract the weather and make sure that the conditions are always on point inside the greenhouse.

So you so you can pretty much just automate and set up everything and it really a hassle-free way of growing. Now Outdoors is a really great way to grow in this very environmentally friendly, it is just a little more challenging to get that top quality product.
