How to make cannabutter (cannabis-infused butter)

Cannabis-infused butter (cannabutter) is one of the simplest and most common ways to make infused cannabis edibles. However, making infused butter can be a little bit tricky. In order to activate its psychoactive potential, the flower must be heated slowly at a low temperature. This recipe will first guide you through this process–called decarboxylation–before walking you through a step-by-step guide to infusing butter.

How to Make Cannabutter to Celebrate 4/20 At Home

Monday, April 20, was supposed to be the most epic 4/20 of our lifetime: the once-in-a-century date on which 4/20 can refer to either the day of the month or the year. But the spread of Covid-19, which has grown to more than 2.1 million cases and 140,000 deaths, 4/20/20 will be a more subdued day than I anticipated.

The 4/20/20 get-together I envisioned, where clouds of cannabis smoke float gently across Hippy Hill in the Bay Area—where I live—is no longer possible. San Francisco Mayor London Breed even sent out a warning on Twitter to whomever was planning to venture out during the shelter-in-place order: If you’re caught celebrating outdoors with others, you will be arrested. That means this holy day for all cannasseurs will have to spent in the comfort of your home—and there are definitely worse things.

When life give you lemons, make some lemonade—or in this case, cannabis-infused butter (aka cannabutter) to bake some delicious canna-treats.

Ingredients
3.5 grams cannabis flower (about 1/8 ounce) 3 tablespoons distilled water 1 cup unsalted butter (8 ounces), preferably organic and grass-fed
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
Immersion stick circulator 1 vacuum-sealable bag (vacuum-sealable bags are preferred but sturdy sealable quart-sized plastic bags can stand in) 1 vacuum sealer

How to Make It
Step 1
Set immersion circulator to 200°F and place in a medium saucepan filled with tap water. Grind the cannabis buds into small pieces and place in the vacuum-sealable bag with 3 tablespoons distilled water. Using the vacuum sealer, seal the bag completely.

Step 2
When the circulator reaches 200°F, drop the sealed bag into the water and decarb for 30 minutes, turning the bag every 5 to 10 minutes to ensure the cannabis is submerged in water.

Step 3
Transfer the bag to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking and preserve the terpenes; let cool. Melt butter in a small saucepan; add cannabis, and simmer, stirring often, for 20 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the butter mixture steep for another 30 minutes.

Step 4
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a shallow container with an airtight lid. You’ll have 12 tablespoons (3/4 cup) of cannabutter, with about 43mg of THC per tablespoon based on a 20% THC strain. Keep refrigerated and use it within 30 days.

Notes
This recipe yields 12 tablespoons cannabutter with approximately 43mg THC per tablespoon based on a 20% THC strain

POTENT Weed Butter Recipe | IHavetheMunchies

Over the years many have asked how I make my butter so strong. Well stay tuned and find out!

*DISCLAIMER*

I take no responsibility for what you do, so be smart!
Furthermore, this is not an official “how to” video, as I’m sure this isn’t THE absolute best way to do it (as any keyboard warrior out there would probably be happy to let me know). This is merely how I’ve been doing it for some time, and those that have tried it have all wanted more.

***************

Requires:

1 ounce dry marijuana (28 grams) – personally I use good end of bag material, but it would certainly be better with AAAA+ nugs gently busted down to a small mostly uniform size

1 cup butter (250 millilitres) – adjust according to however much extra you think you will need to achieve 1 cup after straining

1 baking pan

aluminum foil

pot + bowl that safely fit together to form double boiler

spatula(s)

cheesecloth

second bowl for straining

storage vessel(optional)

Directions:

Ratio: 1 ounce dry marijuana (28 grams): 1 cup butter (237 millilitres)

If you prefer not to use butter, you can use coconut oil or whichever your fat of choice just the same.

Preheat oven to 220F (104.5C)

Sprinkle weed on aluminum foil lined baking pan into a single layer

Bake weed at 240F for around 30 minutes and AVOID peeking! Every time the door opens the oven loses temperature and you risk ruining your batch 🙁 So unless your oven runs hot, wait 25 minutes before even inspecting – and even still, keep it to a minimum. You’re looking for a very slight browning like when you dry and activate your fresh kitchen spices. Don’t overdo it!

While the weed is in the oven – get your double boiler set up and boiling so the butter is melted and ready to accept the freshly decarboxylated weed.

Once the weed has finished in the oven (decarboxylating), add it to your melted butter and give it a stir.

Now for the hardest part: WAIT

For the next 3 or more hours you must monitor both the water level in the pot you’re boiling, whilst periodically giving the weed/butter mixture a good stir.

Sidenote – the longer you let it go, the butter may become more potent but the more sleepy you’ll make anyone that tries them. This is due to the cbd breaking down into cbn. I’ve heard of people going as long as 12 hours. Personally I try to avoid this. Let experience be your guide.

Once you’re content that the mixture has stewed long enough, remove your top bowl containing the weed butter from the heat and let it cool for a minute or two.

Take some cheesecloth and lay it down as shown at about 45 degrees from each layer (not completely unfolded – just enough to catch the weed), this will help make sure the holes aren’t too large or also weak when squeezing the living hell out of it. A puncture or blowout in the cheesecloth at this point is not fun. So as much as you don’t want to lose more of the precious juice to more cloth, use as much as necessary so as to only do it once.

Squeeze. Smush. Twist. Squeeze some more. Once satisfied, throw your masterpiece in the fridge and start cleaning up!

Enjoy!

ABV Weed Cannabutter Recipe

http://www.whatsyourvapetemp.com/ – On today’s ABV Recipes with Chef Luigi episode, we show you how you can make your own ABV weed cannabutter. This recipe is simple to do. Of course, you need ABV weed for this one folks. Let’s go over the ingredients and the cooking process.

What you need for this recipe are:

– Crock pot
– Aluminum foil
– Cheese cloth
– Mixing spoon
– A measuring cup
– Half an ounce of ABV marijuana
– Butter jar
– 2 sticks of butter

Procedure:
1. First, put two sticks of butter in the crock pot. Melt the butter with the crock pot of high.
2. Then mix your half an ounce of ABV in the crock pot and stir.
3. Now that we all have the ingredients inside the crock pot, we need to set it on high for 20-30 minutes until simmer.
4. Once we have reach a simmer, we need to turn down the crock pot to low heat and cover for two hours.
5. After two hours, strain the ingredients through the cheese cloth and into the butter jar. This will get rid of the plant material.
6. Once done, we need to cover the butter jar with aluminum foil and put it inside the fridge to sit overnight.

And when you wake up the next morning, voila! You have yourself a delicious cannabutter enough to use for four recipes(talk about wake and bake huh).
