In this weeks episode i will be going over how my recent light. breaking led me to reevaluate all the current. best LED grow lights on the market compared to sun light and cmh bulbs. I will also go into why a more well rounded full spectrum is the best for the plants and a spectrum with only blue and red will be slacking in a lot useful energy that used to be thought of as wasteful when LED/s first hit the market. but we are way beyond the days of blurple LEDs and CMH or ceramic metal halide used to be the best thing closest to sunlight but now dare i say it and i know some will still defend them but the evidence shows, LED’s have actually surpassed the capabilities of even the best CMH bulbs. but they are few and far in between and most new lights are still using outdated spectrum off of outdated studies, so i will shows you in this video whos ahead of the industry standards and why i chose the lighht i chose to replace it with out any bias as this video is not a paid promotion, only an honest personal review. As your cannabis plants reach the end of the vegetative phase, you will have to flip them to transition them into the flowering stage. Flipping cannabis is one of the most important steps in the latter stages of the cannabis grow cycle. How you flip will help to determine the end result of your overall grow as, once you flip them, your plants will stop vegging and begin to concentrate all of their energy on flowering.

What does flipping cannabis mean?

Flipping cannabis to flower doesn’t literally involve flipping your plants. Flipping cannabis refers to the process of facilitating the transition from veg to flower for your plants. We call it flipping cannabis as you need to flip the photoperiod, the amount of light and dark, by altering the light cycle to give your plants 12 hours of dark

Keep in mind the kinds of yields you want or expect from your plants and provide grow space for them accordingly. In general, most plants double or triple in height after they’re flipped.

Here are things you need to know and consider when flipping:

Available space. Knowing how much space you have is crucial because you don’t want the plant to outgrow its environment.

Here’s a general rule: Marijuana plants will double or triple in height from the time you flip them until the buds sites appear. That means, if you flower a 1-foot plant, you’re going to end up with a 2 to 3-foot-tall plant. They are going to grow about an equal amount in width as well. Bear this in mind, so you can keep a proper distance between the plant and grow lamps.

Potential yield. You can get 4 ounces off of a 2 or 2.5-foot plant, but not from a 1-foot plant. This being the case, make sure that you wait until the plant is at the right size before flipping.

Flipping duration. Flipping from vegetative to flowering is switching the photoperiod, which is just a fancy word for the number of hours for the light and dark cycle. Most plants need around12 hours of uninterrupted darkness to flip. This does not happen in 1 to 3 consecutive days, but certainly within a week.

You’re going to start to see little pistils. These white hairs are going stack by the thousands and grow into what we call buds. Eventually, the buds will join and form colas. It’s good to have a lighted loop when you start seeing red hairs. It is a magnifier you can use to tell when the plants are ripe. We’ll talk about it in the next segment. See you soon!

Growing cannabis outdoors is a year long experience. In this episode of How to Grow Cannabis Outdoors, Nikki and Swami break down the outdoor cannabis grow calendar and what you can look forward to each month of your grow.

They’ll help you schedule and categorize everything you need to do to get ready for your first marijuana grow of the year.

Depending on your locale and the size of your garden, they recommend getting your soil ready in January, prepping your garden, and choosing your seeds. February should see you getting your soil ready with amendments. You may also need to set up a cold frame to protect your plants from the cold evenings.

They recommend sprouting your seeds indoors once you can see that spring is well underway around April. Sow your sprouted seeds, move them outdoors and check your plants every day to sex them and remove males.

Late July will see the start of the vegetative stage, where you’ll get to top and train your cannabis plants as they begin to gain the bulk of their biomass. You’ll also need to set up your supports frames, something we’ll cover in-depth in a later episode.

Next, they’ll cover additional considerations, like your drying space, the perfect time to harvest cannabis, and how important proper weed curing is to your smoking experience.

The lack of water affects the plant’s ability to perform essential functions, such as nutrient uptake and photosynthesis. sup guys its z here again to show you my orannabis grow in this episode im ggooing to be gooing over the recovery of some plants that seemingly are too far gone, and whether or not its worth it to spend the time tryingg to revive them or just pop new seeds. ill go over why i decided to keep these plants and hoow i brought them back to life with living soil.

another. quick tip in this segment is if if a bbranch snaps accidentally while trainingg you can actually tape it back together and it will heal bback together, so as you see in this case i over bent this branch but i actaully didnt mean to snap it, so im goingg to tape it up and youll see within a week it will be healed enouogh to tremove the tape and reveal a hardened stem thats actually sturdier than before the bbreak.

To get the best possible quality of cannabis buds, you need to start your plants off by preparing the soil and fabric pots.

Water

1. Place a 2-inch layer of perlite at the bottom of your fabric pot. Perlite improves drainage and aeration, preventing waterlogged soil and ensuring the roots have access to oxygen.
2. Prepare a Slurry Test as Instructed
3. Premoisten the soil using .13 times the volume of soil in water that is pH balanced to better hit your target.
4. Mix, mix mix and mix, when you think you’re done mixing, mix again.
5. Add premixed soil to your pots, do NOT compress and let this moist soil brew for at least 7 days.

There are many great premade mixes out there but i like to know exactly what is in my soil so i create my Compost in small scale hand crafted batches with majority of ingredients from down to earth ammendments using @Coastofmaine bar harbor blend with added nutrients and my “Black Gold” compost and periodic compost teas.

Showing an entire grow guide of my White Widow cannabis grow from seed to harvest using a Mars Hydro 2×4 Grow Tent and Mars Hydro SP3000 LED Grow Light. The plants were vegged for 66 days with a light schedule of 18/6 before being flipped into flower. We used Promix HP as the growing medium and Green Planet GP3 Nutrients for the entire grow cycle.

Hunting for the perfect cannabis strain involves considering various factors that contribute to its overall quality and effects. This video is intended to show you how different cannabis strains grow under the same conditions and the variances in quality and how to choose the best strain to breed based on the grow results. By evaluating the terpene profile, frost level/THC content, bud structure, stem structure, and yield, you can refine your search and find strains that align with your preferences, needs, and cultivation capabilities. Remember, the ideal strain is subjective and can vary depending on individual preferences, desired effects, and intended use.

Every year I do a massive hunt and instead of phenos, I grow out multiple strains to try to find the best ones. Instead of a seed to harvest, I’m only going to show you the final results and rate and review each strain based on the following:

1. Terpenes:

Terpenes are the aromatic compounds found in cannabis that contribute to its distinctive flavors and scents. Each strain possesses a unique terpene profile, which influences its effects and therapeutic benefits. Some common terpenes include Limonene, Myrcene, Pinene, and Linalool. Understanding the terpene composition can help you identify strains that align with your desired effects, such as relaxation, focus, or pain relief. Researching and experimenting with different terpene profiles can lead you to your preferred cannabis strain.

2. Frost Level/THC:

The frost level, often indicated by the amount of visible trichomes, gives an idea of the strain’s potency. Trichomes are the resinous glands that contain cannabinoids, including THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Strains with high levels of frost tend to have a higher THC content, which can result in stronger psychoactive effects. However, it’s essential to find a balance between THC levels and your tolerance to avoid overwhelming experiences. Novice users might prefer strains with lower THC levels, while experienced users may seek potent strains for specific therapeutic purposes.

3. Bud Structure:

Bud structure refers to the physical appearance of the cannabis flowers. The structure can vary from dense and compact buds to loose and fluffy ones. Dense buds typically indicate higher cannabinoid concentration and resin production. However, different bud structures can also affect the smokeability, flavor, and burn of the strain. While personal preferences play a role, it’s worth noting that well-cured, properly trimmed buds generally provide a more enjoyable smoking or vaping experience.

4. Stem Structure:

The stem structure of cannabis plants can provide valuable insights into their overall health and growth patterns. Sturdy stems with a thick diameter often indicate robust plants that can support heavy buds. Conversely, weak or spindly stems might suggest issues with plant health, nutrient deficiencies, or poor genetics. Examining the stem structure can help you identify strains that are more likely to thrive during cultivation and produce desirable yields.

5. Yield:

Yield refers to the amount of usable cannabis a strain can produce during cultivation. Some strains are known for their high yields, while others may have lower yields but offer exceptional quality. The desired yield may depend on personal preferences, available space for cultivation, and the intended use of the harvested cannabis. If you’re growing your own cannabis, researching the expected yield of different strains can help you maximize your efforts and achieve your cultivation goals.

Stomped Berries was a “last ditch” herm which happens when strains are in bloom too long and I dont mind this type of herm as much.
