Cannabis Rescheduling Stalled: What the DOJ Might Do Next

Tom Howard discusses the potential rescheduling of cannabis, referencing a previous executive order from president trump. He also explores various legal strategies and counter-strategies related to this process, including the “HHS Shield” and the “Railway” loophole concerning judicial hearings. The video further touches upon the “Loper Bright” wildcard in 2024 and presents a realistic timeline for these events, projecting early to mid-2027, touching on drug classification by the drug enforcement administration. He estimates the effective date could be as late as mid-2027, contingent on resolving the interlocutory appeal, conducting any merits hearing, issuing an ALJ report, and publishing a final DEA rule, while noting the Congressional Review Act could apply but may not change outcomes. He closes by asking viewers to like, subscribe, sign up for the newsletter via QR code, and follow future Sunday updates for developments.

Should you be able to have a medical marijuana card & be able to carry a gun? #politics

Honestly, I don’t know how I feel about the topic. I don’t carry often, but the fact that I like the ability to or have the option to means, I don’t really want a medical card. My fiancé has one, obviously she doesn’t carry so I know the benefits of it, but at this moment, I don’t think it’s necessary. I feel like gun safety and training should be done at a young age. The whole thought process of no one should have a gun I think is just ignoring a problem instead of facing it head on. Let me know what you think in the pole or comment. #politics #rights #shopping #daily #miami #florida #business #money #transaction

Feminized vs. Regular Cannabis Seeds – What’s best for YOUR grow?

In this insightful video, Lauren Ruth from West Coast Genetix explores the age-old debate: feminized seeds versus regular seeds for cannabis cultivation. Lauren breaks down the key differences, highlighting the advantages and considerations of each option. While feminized seeds guarantee all-female plants, ensuring higher potency and yield, regular seeds offer the opportunity for breeding and exploring genetics. However, the downside of regular seeds lies in the need to identify and cull male plants, which can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. Lauren shares her first-hand experience, dispelling myths and providing valuable insights for growers. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned cultivator, this breakdown will help you make an informed decision for your grow. Don’t miss out on our free strain selection guide for further assistance in choosing the right seeds for your cultivation journey.

Cannabis and Gun Rights in Pennsylvania: The State Law and Federal Law Conflict

Pennsylvania cannabis consumers, including medical marijuana patients, often assume they are protected under state law. Federal law can still treat a cannabis user as a prohibited person under Title 18, Section 922(g)(3), with penalties that can reach 15 years in federal prison.

This is a fast-moving area, with multiple federal courts evaluating whether the statute is constitutional as applied to cannabis consumers. For confidential guidance tailored to your situation, schedule a consultation at (412) 454-5582 or patricknightingale.com.

When 1970 Changed Weed in America Forever

969 was the first year Gallup ever polled Americans about legalizing marijuana. At the time, only 12% of Americans supported it, while 84% were opposed, illustrating how contentious the “for and against” debate was in the public eye.

The subject was hot news in 1970 and this documentary presented on PBS was considered radical
The Controlled Substances Act (1970) was a landmark legislation was a massive news story as it officially classified marijuana as a Schedule I drug—the most restrictive category, alongside heroin.

In 1970, president Nixon appointed a commission to study the drug. When the commission later recommended decriminalization in 1972, it caused a major rift between scientific findings and government policy.

Gun ban for marijuana users gets Supreme Court review

ABC News’ Devin Dwyer reports on the Supreme Court case that will decide whether there should be a carve-out in a federal law that would give medical marijuana cardholders the right to bear arms.

Can Medical Marijuana Patients Own Guns?

Pennsylvania medical marijuana patients often believe they are fully compliant, then learn the federal government can still allege unlawful firearm possession under Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(g)(3).

The consequences can include arrest, federal court, and life changing collateral damage.

In this video, I break down how New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen is changing the legal landscape and why impairment, timing, and proof matter in these cases. If you need clarity for your specific facts, schedule a confidential consultation with PKN Law at (412) 454-5582.

In this video, Jonathan from the Institute of Human Anatomy explores the physiological and anatomical reasons behind common cannabis side effects, using real human cadavers to show exactly which systems are affected. We dive into the science of “the munchies,” red eyes, and dry mouth by examining the heart, salivary glands, and the hypothalamus.

We also break down the critical differences between tolerance, dependence, and addiction, and discuss how the endocannabinoid system adapts to repeated THC exposure.

7:54 – Is Cannabis Addictive? Understanding Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD)
9:03 – Comparing Risks: Cannabis vs. Alcohol and Opioids

Common Questions

Why does cannabis cause red eyes if you don’t smoke it? It is caused by THC binding to receptors that dilate blood vessels, not just smoke irritation.

How does the “munchies” signal work in the brain? THC disrupts POMC neurons in the hypothalamus, turning off “full” signals and releasing endorphins instead.

What is the difference between dependence and addiction? Dependence is a physical adaptation with withdrawal symptoms, while addiction involves impaired control despite negative consequences.

Does age affect the risk of cannabis addiction? Yes, starting during adolescence increases the risk of developing a disorder from 1 in 10 to about 1 in 6.
