The conversation also breaks down what this does and does not do, including why this is not full federal legalization and what questions still remain about interstate commerce, regulation and adult-use markets.

Even farmers who grow the plant and deal with it directly don’t even know that the primary cannabinoid is THCA and not THC.

You’d be surprised how many people who work in the industry do not know this. And I’m not saying this to shame anyone. I’m just saying it to say lots of people just call the plants THC because we never understood the nuances and biology of the plant. We just focus on the chemical that gets us high, which is THC.

Little do they know that the reason we smoke weed is so the THCA in the plant converts into THC. Otherwise, we would be eating the weed instead of smoking it.

That’s also why we have to cook the plant before turning it into edibles, or else the THCA would not do anything.

And now that you understand that all cannabis is THCA hemp, you now should understand the gravity of the situation that we already have fully federally legal cannabis. That is absolutely insane.

The headline—cannabis rescheduling is now official. The Department of Justice, led by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, has moved certain cannabis products from Schedule I to Schedule III. It’s a major shift—but not across the board. Medical cannabis operators stand to benefit immediately, while adult-use remains federally illegal.

From there, we shift to Virginia, where Governor Abigail Spanberger now faces a key decision that could determine whether adult-use cannabis sales launch in 2027—or get delayed again.
