According to Business Insider, Republican Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina suggested in a recent letter that Congress will discuss marijuana legalization sometime later this year. In his letter, Tillis wrote, “Proposals to legalize marijuana should not be taken lightly. If this issue comes before the Judiciary Committee or the full Senate, I will carefully consider everything you have said in making a decision on what is best for North Carolina and the country.” Job growth in the cannabis industry is said to be outpacing some of the fastest-growing fields in the U.S. Analysts expect it could become a $21 billion industry within the next three years.
