Did you know cannabis and edibles could be silently destroying your heart, maybe even faster than cigarettes? More Americans now use THC or cannabis than smoke tobacco, and a brand-new JAMA study just dropped a bombshell: healthy people who regularly smoke cannabis or eat THC edibles are showing early signs of heart disease, just like cigarette smokers. But here’s the twist: vascular function dropped by 42% in smokers, but a staggering 56% in those who took edibles. Yes, that brownie might be more dangerous than a joint.

Now, before you panic, this study only had 55 people, so we need bigger research to be sure. But if you thought edibles were the “safe” option, think again. THC – tetrahydrocannabinol – can damage the cells lining your blood vessels, making it harder for your heart to get the oxygen it needs.
