Cannabis medicine comes in a variety of forms, and the tincture is one of our favorites!
Tinctures are liquids containing herbal extracts (cannabis, in our case), and they’re administered “sublingually,” or under the tongue. They can also be swallowed and absorbed via the digestive system, but the two large veins underneath the tongue allow for faster and better absorption of the compounds in a tincture.
Kylee Shumway, Pharmacist in Charge at WholesomeCo, says the tincture is the “most medical” way to use cannabis. That’s because tinctures can be dosed drop by drop, allowing greater precision than other forms of cannabis consumption.
