Don’t Worry, It’s Not Dead Yet – How to Fix Underwatering & Drought Quick

Cannabis plants are resilient, but sometimes even the most attentive gardeners can accidentally underwater them. This can lead to significant stress and damage to the plant, but fear not—there are ways to quickly revive a severely underwatered cannabis plant. We show an example of a full recovery using a bottom feeding technique called dunking. These methods can provide immediate relief to the plant and help it bounce back to health. So, let’s dive in!

Severely underwatered cannabis plants exhibit various signs of distress, including wilting leaves, drooping stems, and dry soil. The lack of water affects the plant’s ability to perform essential functions, such as nutrient uptake and photosynthesis. Acting swiftly is crucial to prevent irreversible damage and save your precious plant.

HACK for Hang Drying Cannabis Buds to the PERFECT Moisture Levels

#drying #dryingcannabis #curing

In this short, I show you a simple hack to perfectly drying your buds for the best moisture levels. This method requires just a simple defoliation and a hanging scale:

https://amzn.to/40bCPZm

Using weight based drying on dozens of grow journals, we have concluded that when a plant is wet trimmed (meaning all of the fan leaves are removed before harvest), we have come up with a a 72% weight loss to bring the actual moisture level of the buds to around 12%. The remaining 0-3% will be removed and redistributed at cure.

How to Prepare & Mix Your Soil to Grow the Best Cannabis (pH Fix & Premoisten) – GWM Free Episode

To get the best possible quality of cannabis buds, you need to start your plants off by preparing the soil and fabric pots.

Before embarking on this soil preparation journey, make sure you have the necessary materials at hand:

Fabric pots: https://amzn.to/44o0MuM
Potting soil mix: https://amzn.to/3YLmtDS
Perlite: https://amzn.to/45s3uRC
pH up/down solution: https://amzn.to/44jofNL
pH meter or pH testing kit: https://amzn.to/47HlIjs clip coupon
Water

1. Place a 2-inch layer of perlite at the bottom of your fabric pot. Perlite improves drainage and aeration, preventing waterlogged soil and ensuring the roots have access to oxygen.
2. Prepare a Slurry Test as Instructed
3. Premoisten the soil using .13 times the volume of soil in water that is pH balanced to better hit your target.
4. Mix, mix mix and mix, when you think you’re done mixing, mix again.
5. Add premixed soil to your pots, do NOT compress and let this moist soil brew for at least 7 days.

How to Tell When To Harvest Weed -Best Quality & Highest THC – 2022 Update

Harvesting weed at the wrong time is one of the most common rookie mistakes and in this video, we teach you the absolute best way to know when it’s time to chop your marijuana and weed plants.

From seed to harvest, marijuana plants have a broad range of growth periods. The duration of the growth cycle may depend on several factors, including growing medium, environment, nutrients and genetics. This combination of factors means that there is a high variability in how long it will take for peak and optimal THC and CBN levels. For the most part, it takes about 9 week of flowering for buds to fully mature but based on the factors listed above, it could be more or less.

The most effective way to tell when the best time is to harvest is by using a jeweler’s loupe to magnify the trichomes and use the color as a guide. Depending on the color of the trichomes, you can choose for optimal THC or CBN content and if you are going for the highest THC content, wait until all of the trichomes are clear. If you want more of a sedative high, THC converts to CBN and when trichomes turn amber, this signifies conversion.

How to Hang Dry Weed – EASY Guide on Drying Cannabis Perfect

So your plants finally have the perfect amount of amber trichomes and now you’re ready to chop. But you don’t know how to dry weed? Congratulations, you made it this far, but your works not done yet. You can’t just smoke the buds off these plants and the next steps are drying, trimming and curing. There are hundreds of different ways you can dry your buds but for the purpose of this video, I’m going to show you how to dry weed and cannabis and the easiest way is to hang it upside down.

Freshly cut buds will have about 75% water weight and you want to bring this down to about 10-15%. This will allow chlorophyll in your buds to break down and remove the majority of the hay and grassy scent apparent in fresh cut buds. The whole process can take anywhere from 3 to 14 days, depending on size of buds, amount of foliage and stems and the environment. Properly dried buds will improve the smoke quality and preserve the terpene and THC content.

The first thing you need to do is pick a DARK location in your house that’s close to 60 degrees Fahrenheit and 55% humidity. Just find the room that’s closest to this combo using a thermometer/hygrometer. The room needs to be dark because sunlight contains UV light which will degrade THC. It’s also worth noting, that these plants will be DANK during the first couple of days of drying, so if that’s an issue, you may want to dry in a carbon filtered grow tent. These numbers don’t have to exact, but it’s important they don’t fluctuate and as long as you’re not more than 10 degrees off, I’d say you’re safe. If you’re more than 10 degrees, you may need to control the variables using a heater, AC unit, humidifier or dehumidifier:

Dehumidifier: https://amzn.to/3JOKNzv
Humidifier: https://amzn.to/3DOA8AU
Portable AC: https://amzn.to/3Ywlrel
Space Heater: https://amzn.to/3HL095l

Best Thermometer/Hydrometer: https://amzn.to/3Kj0I9w

High humidity may lead to mold and bud rot, where low humidity may result in your bud drying too fast. Bud that dries too fast will trap chlorophyll in the center of the buds and that doesn’t taste good. Now, were finally ready to chop, I chop right before I was supposed to feed the plants so that as much moisture evaporates naturally.

Some people like to leave their plants in complete darkness for up to 2 days before they chop, but I just chop right in the morning, right before light is about to start in the tent. Now, get your gloves and put them on because its gonna get real sticky.

Drying begins the day that you chop and if you could chop and flip the whole plant in one piece, DO IT. However, most of the time my plants will collapse once I remove the supports, so then, I have to chop by the branch.

Once all these leaves are off, you’re ready to hang. I like to hang using soft twist ties because they’re easy to use and for branches, you don’t even need to tie them. I reuse the ones I used for low stress training and loop it around branch onto the hanging line. As I’m hanging the buds, I am spacing them out and making sure none of them are touching or too close. If I’m drying in a small room, I like to add a small fan and put it on its lowest setting. I never aim the fan directly at the plants and usually aim it at a wall on an angle. This will help prevent isolated cases of high humidity which happens when buds aren’t spaced out evenly.

Once all the buds are hung, closely monitor the temperature and humidity to make sure nothing gets thrown off. For the first 2 days you will notice the same pungent bud like scent that came from your grow tent while the buds were ready to harvest. This is where the majority of the moisture evaporates and on day 3-5 you’ll notice more of the hay and grass like scent.

You may think that the plants have lost their aroma, but this is where the chlorophyll is just breaking down and with that, the grassiness is evaporating. The smell will be less obvious in the days that follow and soon you’ll be ready to trim. During days 5 and on, I use my sense of touch to know when the buds are dry. Find a stem that’s as thick as a toothpick and use both hands to see if the stem cracks. If it bends, theres still moisture in the buds and you want it to kind of snap. Another great method is weight based drying but it requires a hanging scale. By measuring the wet weight, I wait until around 70% of the water weight evaporates to start snapping. Ive been tracking these weights and 72% seems to be my sweet spot.

Hanging Scale: https://amzn.to/3YvqXNy

The buds will seem dry to the touch, but the inside still contains moisture which we’ll balance out in curing.

How Weed Grow STRAIN HUNT 2023 – Best Frost, THC, Terpenes, Buds & Structure – Harvest Highlights

Hunting for the perfect cannabis strain involves considering various factors that contribute to its overall quality and effects. This video is intended to show you how different cannabis strains grow under the same conditions and the variances in quality and how to choose the best strain to breed based on the grow results. By evaluating the terpene profile, frost level/THC content, bud structure, stem structure, and yield, you can refine your search and find strains that align with your preferences, needs, and cultivation capabilities. Remember, the ideal strain is subjective and can vary depending on individual preferences, desired effects, and intended use.

Every year I do a massive hunt and instead of phenos, I grow out multiple strains to try to find the best ones. Instead of a seed to harvest, I’m only going to show you the final results and rate and review each strain based on the following:

1. Terpenes:

Terpenes are the aromatic compounds found in cannabis that contribute to its distinctive flavors and scents. Each strain possesses a unique terpene profile, which influences its effects and therapeutic benefits. Some common terpenes include Limonene, Myrcene, Pinene, and Linalool. Understanding the terpene composition can help you identify strains that align with your desired effects, such as relaxation, focus, or pain relief. Researching and experimenting with different terpene profiles can lead you to your preferred cannabis strain.

2. Frost Level/THC:

The frost level, often indicated by the amount of visible trichomes, gives an idea of the strain’s potency. Trichomes are the resinous glands that contain cannabinoids, including THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Strains with high levels of frost tend to have a higher THC content, which can result in stronger psychoactive effects. However, it’s essential to find a balance between THC levels and your tolerance to avoid overwhelming experiences. Novice users might prefer strains with lower THC levels, while experienced users may seek potent strains for specific therapeutic purposes.

3. Bud Structure:

Bud structure refers to the physical appearance of the cannabis flowers. The structure can vary from dense and compact buds to loose and fluffy ones. Dense buds typically indicate higher cannabinoid concentration and resin production. However, different bud structures can also affect the smokeability, flavor, and burn of the strain. While personal preferences play a role, it’s worth noting that well-cured, properly trimmed buds generally provide a more enjoyable smoking or vaping experience.

4. Stem Structure:

The stem structure of cannabis plants can provide valuable insights into their overall health and growth patterns. Sturdy stems with a thick diameter often indicate robust plants that can support heavy buds. Conversely, weak or spindly stems might suggest issues with plant health, nutrient deficiencies, or poor genetics. Examining the stem structure can help you identify strains that are more likely to thrive during cultivation and produce desirable yields.

5. Yield:

Yield refers to the amount of usable cannabis a strain can produce during cultivation. Some strains are known for their high yields, while others may have lower yields but offer exceptional quality. The desired yield may depend on personal preferences, available space for cultivation, and the intended use of the harvested cannabis. If you’re growing your own cannabis, researching the expected yield of different strains can help you maximize your efforts and achieve your cultivation goals.

Drying and Curing Weed – A Beginner’s Guide with Kyle Kushman.

When drying your cannabis, the rule of thumb is to let the plants hang in a nice controlled environment for 7 to 10 days, maybe 14 days at most. Once the harvest appears fairly dry, perform these tests to confirm if it’s ready for curing:

• Bud check. Use your touch to know if it’s time to let plants off. There should be some spring left to the bud when you squeeze into it.
• Snap test. You want a stem that snaps and creates a little crack rather than bends or breaks in half. Once that is achieved, take the flowers and remove them from the stem. You will get a little snap from the stem and a tiny piece of hemp is going to roll along as you try to pull it off.
• Smoke test. Do a smoke test to know whether your flowers are ready for storage. Take the bud, roll it up into a joint, and light it. If the joint stays lit, you can seal those buds up.

After making sure the flowers are all set, it is time to seal them in a container. Here’s what you have to do:

• Break down the buds as much as you can, leaving as little stem as possible.
• Fill the glass jar completely to the top.
• Give a nice shake so the flowers settle down a little bit.
• Close the jar and leave it for a couple of days.
• Open the jar to see if the buds cured beautifully. If you smell candy, you can close the jar again and leave the flowers for as long as you like. However, if you smell a little ammonia, that means you put the flowers in the jar a little bit too soon. You have to discard your buds and curing is over for this time.

No matter the result, bear in mind that curing is an art form, and you’ll get better every time you do it. Plus, it’s always worth the effort because cured weed is so much better than uncured weed.
