Kentucky is the 38th state to legalize medical cannabis, but gun owners wishing to use medical cannabis may face a challenge. Kentucky NORML Executive Director Matthew Bratcher said on the form to purchase a firearm, it asks if you are a medical cannabis user. If you lie on the form, Bratcher said you could be charged with a federal perjury and if convicted, face up to 10 years in jail.

The Real Story of Medical Cannabis: Myths Debunked – Dr. Gill

CBD Supplements and Cannabis generally are those sorts of topics where there are MANY opinions and surprisingly little fact behind the media articles

I have many patients who use cannabis and over-the-counter CBD products and when I’ve been asked about it, I’ve been relatively dismissive and advised them to avoid these products

HOWEVER – I realised that my negative opinion towards CBD and cannabidiol as an approach to helping patients was based on ignorance, rather than knowledge.

To be very clear, I had a negative opinion of cannabis generally. I knew there was an association with psychosis, but relatively little else… and I realised that I was speaking as a doctor – from a place of medical authority – from a position that I couldn’t honestly say was based on science rather than opinion.

So I set out to change that. In this video, I look at the research present in the BMJ about the effects of cannabis products for patients and found some interesting results – both about benefits and harms. Let me be clear “IS CANNABIS SAFE?” is far from a black-and-white answer.

Hopefully, people will see I’ve approached this topic openly and honestly – these are my findings about cannabis and CBD products

Cannibis sativa or marijuana / hemp is a wild plant or weed (pun unintended!) in India. It grows throughout the country, as a pesky roadside plant. Here, along this highway headed north, to the Himalaya, the marijuana plants grow as tall as 9 or even 11 feet and line the entire 300 kilometer road.

So common is the bhang plant that no one gives it a second glance and no one stops to harvest their own supply either! Instead, they would prefer the mangos that are ripening on the orchards alongside the highway… See the brightly coloured sheets on the litchi trees? Those are to keep away the marauding parakeets!

At this time in Australia, only a “defined group of patients” have access to medicinal cannabis, including children with “severe intractable epilepsy”. But while the government embarks on the long process of implementing legal medicinal cannabis schemes for those beyond the current legislation, desperate patients have been forced to source medicine from the black market.

In Stealthcare, VICE embeds with illegal growers and the patients they service, exploring the issues surrounding access to medicinal cannabis. These growers, essentially cannabis enthusiasts, often donate their product for little or no cost, at great personal risk. Scarred by jealous drug dealers, police raids and government persecution, these “Compassion Clubs” are forced to operate on the black market where they can deliver the medicine to sufferers.

Keystone State Testing, in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, is one of two labs approved by Pennsylvania for the testing of medical marijuana. The lab ensures medication is safe for patients and correctly labeled. The lab will test the ratios of cannabidiol, or CBD – a non-intoxicating compound – and tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, – that component that causes the high- and make sure they are correctly identified on the label. The temporary health department regulations on labs also requires they test for pesticides, solvents, moisture content, and other substances.

“New research published today in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine confirms what many of us have suspected for some time: If you smoke a lot of weed — like a lot of it — it can potentially do permanent damage to your short-term memory.

Professor Reto Auer of the University of Lausanne led a team of researchers who examined data on the marijuana habits of nearly 3,400 Americans over a 25-year period. At the end of the study period, the subjects took a battery of tests designed to assess cognitive abilities — memory, focus, ability to make quick decisions, etc.

The study found that people who smoked marijuana on a daily basis for a long period of time — five years or more — had poorer verbal memory in middle age than people who didn’t smoke, or who smoked less. This association remained even after researchers controlled for a variety of other factors known to affect cognitive performance, including age, education, use of other substances and depression.”

Comedians love to speculate that Jesus didn’t have magic powers, but rather he was a savvy magician in a period when a simple card trick must have looked like sorcery. Instead of magic tricks, though, studies show that Jesus likely used cannabis to perform some of his healing “miracles” according to research collected by Chris Bennett, who has been researching the influence of cannabis in religion and the occult for over 25 years. According to Bennett Jesus and his apostles used cannabis-infused “holy oil” to treat lesions, the pain of crippled limbs and swollen muscles, leprosy and the “Hand of Ghost,” which is likely to be what is known today as epilepsy.

These theories stem from the inclusion of “kaneh-bosem” as an ingredient in Jesus and his disciples’ anointing oil. For a while, no one really paid attention to what this mystery ingredient was. But researchers have since found that kaneh-bosem is likely a reference to cannabis.
