San Bernardino: Fire Leads to Discovery of Large Marijuana Grow

On Thursday 09-14-2017 at approximately 4:00 a.m, San Bernardino County Fire responded to a structure fire at 879 South Washington Ave.

Arriving crews located a single story family residence with a shed on fire in the backyard.

Firefighters initially noticed at least 40 to 50 marijuana plants in the backyard of the residence but a grow of much larger scale was discovered after knockdown of the fire was achieved.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time and SBPD was dispatched to the location to investigate the grow operation.

One elderly subject who only spoke Spanish was discovered at the location and his involvement with the grow is not known at the moment. This is an active investigation by SPBD.
