Short answer: no. On Friday the DEA gave federal registrations to more than 900 MEDICAL marijuana dispensaries in seven states, including Texas. It does not authorize recreational marijuana, and everything outside the order stays Schedule I.

Who qualifies, the nearly 7,000 businesses that applied, the Minnesota dispensary the DEA moved to turn down, what it could mean for taxes (280E), where the full rescheduling case stands, and the Texas hemp hearing in Austin this morning at 9.

As of Nov. 2, 2026.
