“While medical marijuana is legal in Colorado, employers can still fire patients for using it — even if they aren’t impaired at work.

In a landmark decision Monday morning, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Brandon Coats, a quadriplegic medical marijuana patient from Colorado who was fired by Dish Network in 2010 for using the drug while at home and off-duty, was not protected under the state’s “lawful activities statute.”

“Although I’m very disappointed today, I hope that my case has brought the issue of use of medical marijuana and employment to light,” Coats said in an emailed statement. “If we’re making marijuana legal for medical purposes we need to address issues that come along with it such as employment. Hopefully views on medical marijuana –- like the ones in my specific case — will change soon.”

The arguments from both Dish’s and Coats’ attorneys centered on the question of what exactly constitutes “lawful” use of medical marijuana outside of the workplace — and how such use can be considered lawful when federal law still classifies marijuana as an illegal substance, even though the state of Colorado has legalized its use both medically and recreationally.”*

In this weeks episode i will be going over how my recent light. breaking led me to reevaluate all the current. best LED grow lights on the market compared to sun light and cmh bulbs. I will also go into why a more well rounded full spectrum is the best for the plants and a spectrum with only blue and red will be slacking in a lot useful energy that used to be thought of as wasteful when LED/s first hit the market. but we are way beyond the days of blurple LEDs and CMH or ceramic metal halide used to be the best thing closest to sunlight but now dare i say it and i know some will still defend them but the evidence shows, LED’s have actually surpassed the capabilities of even the best CMH bulbs. but they are few and far in between and most new lights are still using outdated spectrum off of outdated studies, so i will shows you in this video whos ahead of the industry standards and why i chose the lighht i chose to replace it with out any bias as this video is not a paid promotion, only an honest personal review. More than one in five parents of teens believe that what they say has little influence on whether their child will use drugs or alcohol.

Teens report their parents’ beliefs around drugs and alcohol have the most influence on their choices.

The conversation around marijuana and teenagers comes down to strong communication skills and sticking to the facts.

The main points I tend to discuss with my teens and highlight are:

1. Marijuana poses risks despite what teens or our culture may say or believe.

2. Data shows “marijuana is not as safe as it once was.”

3. Marijuana poses specific risks to the developing teen brain.

4. Marijuana poses specific risks to the teen’s mental health.

5. Earlier use of marijuana poses a greater risk for cognitive decline.
