So I would say the most important psychological effect of marijuana is the effect it has when people hear the name, marijuana. In fact, in the 1930s there was a newspaper headlines about homicide cases in New York people would say just being the room with marijuana was enough to give them homicidal vibrations and to cause them to go violent and kill people. This was an absurd idea, but it was part of the era of reefer madness.

All of this is just to tell you that the effects that a drug has on the psyche, especially a psychologically activating drug or psychoactive drug has a lot to do with how we perceive it, the context that it’s introduced to us in, and it’s not just all about chemistry and neuro-chemistry and pharmacology and receptors. So it’s important to understand the psychological effects of marijuana have a lot to do with how the user, the consumer, of marijuana is prepared to experience it. That’s called expectation. There’s actually a whole field called social pharmacology. So that’s social pharmacology 101.

Now given that there are still some effects that you can imagine in a naive or first-time user of a drug; very famously it was written about in a sociology journal called Becoming a Marijuana User in the 1950s by Howard Becker. And he talked about how the user of marijuana really just has to learn to get used to its effects; sometimes there’s no effect initially, a dis subsequent effects they have to learn to use what’s called a relaxation response, associate its use with an idea of chilling out or relaxing. And what does that have to do with? That has to do with the stress axis in the body that the chemicals in marijuana actually interact with. And it’s possible that that’s what the body is kind of tapping into.

Now placebo marijuana exists in studies and people get the same effects that they would get from regular marijuana, because they are expecting these things. So you have to always keep that in mind. The placebo effect is very strong with psychologically activating drugs.

But overall, if you poll many thousands of people who have used marijuana they will all say that, or the vast majority will talk about a stress relief or relaxation psychologically, a state that is both activating and relaxed at the same time. And people will talk about improved mood, and sense of well being. And all of that is related to the receptors in the brain that are in the higher portions of our cortex. The more advanced parts of our brain that are involved with mood and thought and as I mentioned, the stress axis, the hypothalamus. So those are some of the most commonly viewed psychological effects.

Now in people who are fearful, or maybe have a negative reaction, you can see reactions of paranoia, or confusion, or sedation, or dizziness, all those kinds of things can be also seen. And certainly when people are concerned about how their use of this substance will be viewed by authorities or there can always be a reaction of a higher heart rate or kind of a fear reaction. Again, there is a little bit of an increase in your heart rate with marijuana, but if you are anxious about that, that’ll cause your heart rate to go up even further. So there’s a lot of feedback to how the user is going to experience the effect. So a little bit of a psychological effect of marijuana.

Marijuana, when used for therapeutic use, can be prepared and ingested in several different ways. The most common way that most people know about is smoking. Rolling that into a cigarette-looking item, and inhaling. I think that’s how most of us have seen cannabis used in movies or recreationally.

Another mode of ingestion, that has very similar effects on the body as smoking, is vaporization. And patients report liking this method, because it actually takes out the smoke and inhaling cannabis. And there are several large machines on the market or even handheld vaporizers, that allow patients to use a very similar amount that they would use in smoking. But put it in a device that actually heats up the plant matter so that just all of the molecules vaporize instead of actually burning the plant matter and inhaling. And, of course, cannabis does not cause cancer but smoke can create problems with your throat and some people just don’t like the smoke. So vaporization is another way to inhale cannabis without the smoke.

But for medical cannabis patients who need longer relief and need a longer lasting relief, they find that actually eating cannabis, or turning it into what is called a tincture, or even a topical rub produces better effects.

Now, all of these different types of ingestion or modes of use have different effects. If you’re using, if you’re smoking medical cannabis, either through what people call a joint, or through a pipe, or bong, you’re going to feel the effects right away. And a lot of people like this because it lets them know their titration rate. Right? They know if I take one puff and I feel like this, then I don’t need anymore. And you’ve probably seen a tincture in your health foods store for St. John’s wort or echinacea. It’s simply a process of putting alcohol with the plant matter and the alcohol extracts out the compounds from the plant and then you’re able to ingest this through a dropper or through a spray under your tongue.

And other people make, actually make topical oils. Which, for people who don’t like the side effects of dry mouth or sleepiness, people prefer just to put it right on the wounded area. INDOORS AND OUTDOORS – CONSTANT HARVEST STRATEGY

One of the best solutions to energy verses output for most home gardeners is to use outdoor light for flowering and use continuous light indoors for germination and vegetative growth. This will take advantage of the natural light/dark cycle and cut your energy use in half compared to the same operation indoors. A small greenhouse can be built of Filon fiberglass or PVC sheets that is innocuous and looks much like a storage shed or tool shed so its not likely to raise suspicions.
In fact, a large shed of metal or plywood can be modified with a luminous roof of PVC, glass, fiberglass or plastic sheet, and some strains that do not require a great deal of light will grow well. Such a shed will discourage fly-by sightings and keep your business your own! It also allows you to keep out rats and gophers, keeps out the neighbor kids, and can be easily locked up. It will also give you an opportunity to actually plant in the ground if you desire, and this is the best way to avoid root-bound plants (if your not using hydroponics), and get bigger harvests.
In winter, indoor space is used to start new seedlings or cuttings to be placed outside in the spring, using natural sunlight to ripen the plants. This routine will provide at least 3 outdoor/greenhouse harvests per year. If more space is available to constantly be starting indoors and flowering 2nd harvest plants outdoors, harvests are possible every 60 days in many areas, with a small indoor harvest in the winter as a possibility as well.
The basic strategy of year round production is to understand the plant has two growth cycles. At germination the plant enters into a vegetative state and will be able to use all the continuous light you can give it. This means there is no dark cycle required. The plant will photosynthesis constantly and grow faster than it would outdoors with long evenings. Photosynthesis stops during dark periods and the plant uses sugars produced to build during the evening. This is not a requirement and the plant will grow faster at this stage with continuous photosynthesis (constant light).
Once the plant is 12-18 tall, weather permitting, it can be forced to start flowering by placing it outside in the Spring or Fall. (For Summer outdoor flowering, the night must be artificially lengthened in the greenhouse to force the plants to flower. See FLOWERING chapter.)
Moving the plants to 10-13 hour light periods (moving it outside) with uninterrupted darkness (no bright lights nearby) will force the plant to flower. It will ripen and be 2-3 when ready to harvest. When a plant is moved from continuous indoor light to a 10-13 hour day outside, it will start to flower in anticipation of oncoming winter. Vegetative starts moved outside March 1st, will be ripe by May 1. Vegetative starts moved outside on May 1 will be ripe by July 1. Starts moved outside Sept 1 are picked by Nov. 1st. In Winter, operations are moved indoors and a crop is planted for seed in anticipation of planting outdoors the next summer, or just for some extra winter stash.
Keep in mind that the man is looking for plants in the Sept./Oct./Nov. time-frame, and may never notice plants placed outside to flower in April. Be smart, make your big harvest in May, not October!

Incase you didn’t know, society has brainwashed all of you into thinking Marijuana is a drug, when it’s not. Yes, it alters you. No, it’s not a drug. I didn’t think so.
Let me, also, give you the scientific comparison of Marijuana to other things.
Marijuana compared to a beer:
One beer is equal to 35 grams smoked of Indica, or “Chronic” or “Funk” or “Kush” whatever you want to call it. 68 Grams of Sativa, or “regs” or “reggie” or “schwagg”.
You can go research that if you want too, because I have multiple times.
Marijuana is also, not addicting at all. People simply enjoy it and repeat it, but I myself have recently discovered that it’s not addicting. You see, I couldn’t leave for a while, and I was smoking pot EVERYday 3-6 times a day, sometimes more. I quit cold turkey. I plan to start again here soon though, no worries.
Anyways, enough about me, like I said, it’s not addicting. It’s more then 100 times healthier than a beer. It’s also a lot safer then popping pills, AND smoking cigarettes. Marijuana does nothing harmful to your body, it’s not like a cigarette. When you smoke it, nothing sticks to your lungs. I used to think that Resin did, but I researched it, and Resin, or the residue that marijuana smoke leaves behind, can’t stick to our lungs because of what they are made of. It’s not strong enough. Tar in cigarettes, however, is.
Marijuana isn’t a drug. If you think it is, you have successfully been brainwashed by the government, congratulations.

Mexican marijuana profits are falling as a result of free-market economics and loosened US marijuana laws.The price decline has led to reduced marijuana production and forced Mexican farmers to supplement income by entering the poppy or heroin business. The US and Mexico compete not only in price of marijuana but also quality and it is not prooving cost effective for the Mexico. The high demand for heroin in the US has also shifted the Cartel to push resources away from marijuana and toward other drugs that are illegal in the US such as heroin, methamphetamines and cocaine. On this video, Mathias shows an aeroponic tower covered with huge cannabis plants grown outdoors.

Although the tower looks like a tall commercial Tower Garden (44 plants per tower), it is important to mention that the aeroponic tower featured in this video is only a short residential tower (28 plants per tower). It only looks bigger/taller because it is covered with 2 months old cannabis plants…

When visiting our cannabis photo gallery, you can view photos of this tower just with seedlings. In other terms, you do not need a commercial farm to grow such plants! Anyone owning a residential Tower Garden model can accomplish the same at home on their balcony or in their backyard.
At Ibiza Farm, although we only use organic insecticide, we never have had to spray anything on our cannabis plants (not even once!): Growing aeroponic cannabis plants off the ground reduces the risks of pests/fungi related matters greatly!
Just on the tower shown on the video, we harvested a little bit over 3 pounds of extremely potent buds! We could have gotten a higher crop yield, but regrettably, 30 days before harvest, we lost our two most promising plants due to a handling mistake (which we explain in our e-book titled “Do’s and Don’ts of growing cannabis on a Tower Garden”).
Growing cannabis in soil usually demands discipline and dedication as well as ongoing attention to respect the various stage of growth. However, when using a Tower Garden, it’s really just a matter of planting the seedling into the tower and let it do its thing until harvest!

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was at VICE Canada’s Toronto office to discuss the government’s weed legalization bill at an exclusive live event on April 24th, 2017. Trudeau and MP Bill Blair, who has been the Liberals’ pointman on this file, were questioned about the new legislation at the live event, hosted by Manisha Krishnan.

They also took questions from guests who will be directly impacted by the new laws and through those conversations, touched on harm reduction, the possibility of pardons, how dispensaries will fit into a new system focussed largely on big licensed producers, and how the government plans to keep the products from licensed producers safe.
