The Supreme Court has unanimously sided with a Texas man, and habitual marijuana user, who argued that a federal law barring certain drug users from having guns was a violation of his 2nd Amendment rights. The 9-0 ruling does not strike down the law, but does deem the government cannot automatically disarm a person who occasionally uses marijuana, as was the case with Ali Danial Hemani. That federal law was also used in the case against Hunter Biden, on which Biden was convicted on three felonies before being pardoned by his father in 2024.
