Amsterdam-style cannabis cafes have become legal in California with a new state law. The owner of a dispensary in Sacramento said she has been preparing to diversify her business with the creation of a lounge space. Tori Apodaca reports.
A new law allowing local governments to approve cannabis cafes, where customers can smoke, eat prepackaged goods, and listen to live music, comes into effect in the new year.
Authorities seized more than 400 pounds of illegal marijuana during a raid in a Northern California grow house. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office discovered more than 1,400 marijuana plants in the West Point grow house, about 70 miles southeast of Sacramento, on Thursday, according to a statement.
Hundreds of federal and local law enforcement agents have seized roughly 100 Northern California houses purchased with money wired to the United States by a Chinese-based crime organization and used to grow massive amounts of marijuana illegally.
