In this video, Tom, a cannabis industry lawyer, expresses his frustration over Congress’s inaction on cannabis legalization despite 88% of Americans supporting medical marijuana. Tom critiques the superficial bills proposed so far and calls for practical, bipartisan legislation like a National Medical Marijuana Act.
He discusses the complexities of current state and federal cannabis regulations, the differences between marijuana and hemp, and the critical need for unified national policies. Tom also addresses the potential benefits of rescheduling marijuana to Schedule 3 and the pressing issue of regulating hemp-derived cannabinoids like Delta 8 THC. He urges viewers to advocate for real legislative action and offers insights into what a comprehensive cannabis framework could look like.

Marijuana Drug Fact Information Video With Dr. Rajy Abulhosn, Medical Director
Written by thcscout on . Posted in Facts. No Comments on Marijuana Drug Fact Information Video With Dr. Rajy Abulhosn, Medical Director
This plant grows wild in many tropical and humid parts of the world and has been cultivated for thousands of years as a source of industrial (hemp) fiber, animal feed, hempseed oil and medicine; as well as for its recreational uses brought on by the main psychoactive chemical it contains, commonly referred to as THC.
Marijuana goes by many names such as weed, pot, bud, herb, grass and Mary Jane.
Marijuana is perhaps in the unique position to be able to claim that it is a stimulant, a depressant and a hallucinogen rolled into one. Different people react differently to marijuana.
What are some side effects of marijuana use?
As a stimulant, marijuana enhances mood, boosts confidence and self esteem and produces feelings of elation. Used often enough, it can cause a person to become overly talkative, lively and ecstatic.
As a depressant, marijuana may have the opposite effect, acting like a mild sedative, causing a person to become drowsy or overly relaxed. Some users may retreat often becoming silent and withdrawn.
As a hallucinogen, marijuana makes everything around the user distorted often causing a heightened sense of sound and colors.
Other side effects of marijuana may include dizziness, depression, enhanced appetite, slurred speech and short term memory impairment.
Interested in learning more about the side effects of THC? Click that link in the upper right hand corner to learn more.
Currently, 28 states plus Washington D.C. have legalized the use of medical marijuana and a handful of states have legalized marijuana for recreational use as well. However, just because it’s legal to use in many states, does not mean that employers find it acceptable for their employees to use marijuana.
Confirm BioSciences offers quite a few different options for marijuana testing including our DrugConfirm Advanced urine drug test cup, our SalivaConfirm Premium saliva drug tests as well as our THC dip cards.

It was exactly 10 years ago today that marijuana, better known as cannabis, first became legal in the United States…well in Colorado at least. Colorado was the first state to legalize it after around 77 years of it being effectively illegal across the country.
Now that 10 years have passed, how has Colorado and the entire country, for that matter, changed?
The campaign predicts tax revenue to make $2 million within the first year. $10 million? Ha! Colorado ended up making around $70 million in tax revenue that first year and has made more than $2 billion ever since. This money has funded everything from healthcare to education to highways to law enforcement. While more adults now consume marijuana in Colorado, there is no evidence that more kids do. Marijuana DUI arrests have modestly gone up.
Nationwide, cannabis is now completely legal for adults in 24 states, DC, and 3 territories and medically legal in 37 states. What a difference 10 years makes.

When it comes to marijuana, for beginners especially, you’ve got to throw out almost everything you’ve ever known about medication. Medical Marijuana is a whole new ballgame. In Utah, marijuana has just recently become legal for medical use, leaving many lifelong users wondering how to adjust their usage to adhere to the law, and many newbies just wondering where in the world to start.
Blake Smith, Chief Scientific Officer at Zion Medicinal, a Utah CBD and Medical Cannabis grower and supplier, will give you an idea of what cannabis compounds to look out for when purchasing your CBD or THC products, and which to completely avoid.
Pro tip: Tim Pickett, a QMP in Utah and founder of Utahmariijuana.org, will almost always recommend CBD for beginners, to combat the possible “too high” feeling that you may experience as your body adjusts to the THC. Check out Tim’s website, https://utahmarijuana.org for other helpful tips with everything from Utah Marijuana laws to getting a Utah Medical Marijuana Card.
