To sum up the video: you CANNOT predict yield on a “per-plant” basis. The range per plant is anything from 1 Oz to 10 Pounds depending on weather, length of vegetative phase, etc. You might be able to ballpark it if you have experience with the strain & growing conditions. Aside from that, do NOT expect anything close to a pound per plant out of indoor plants; indoors you’ll be measuring harvest in 2-5 Ounces-per-plant. Measure in Watts instead: for indoor, just use one 600 Watt HID bulb or equivalent as per the math below, If you successfully grow 0.5 gram/watt, you’ll be fine.
300 grams/harvest X 2 Harvests per year = 600 grams/year = Almost 2 grams/day! Plenty for most folks….fitting a 3rd harvest is simple!

Today on Lex’s World I’ll talk more Horticulture basics and address how to use low stress training methods to increase your harvest. Getting more yield out of your marijuana plants is more important than ever with the legal reality of being limited to six plants or even less for legal personal growing purposes. Now obviously to get more yield you can increase the wattage or change your nutrient scheme, but if you don’t want to do things like that….that means you have to alter the plant itself to produce more. And there’s easy ways to do that: tying down branches and using larger containers are two SUPER simple ways. Topping is very useful as well, but it is considered a high stress training method, i’ll do a separate episode on it at some point.

Today I’m going to show it all to you in a step-by-step guide….by the time you finish this instructional video, you will be able to do it too. Bare in mind; there are MANY different ways of doing this. This is just the way I personally deem reasonably fast, easy and produces good results.

RECIPE:
Ingredients: Deep Tupperware container, rubber bands, cheesecloth, cooking pot, ground up Cannabis without stems, real unsalted butter.
Directions: Fill a small pot of water with enough water for it to fill the bottom 2 inches of the cooking pot. Set heat to high and boil the water. Turn heat down to medium and put in 1 stick of butter (125 g or half cup) for every quarter ounce of weed you plan on using. Allow 5 minutes for butter to melt. Turn heat down to low and put in Marijuana; stir frequently for 45 min-1 hour until liquid begins to take on a glossy, shiny texture. Cover Tupperware container with cheesecloth, secure with elastic bands….pour butter/water mixture through cheesecloth. Let cool 3 minutes. Take cheesecloth and squeeze any remaining butter out into the container. Place container in fridge overnight. In the morning, poke a hole in the butter along the side, then squeeze the Tupperware container until the water drains out. And voila! You have isolated the Cannabutter! Put into your favorite recipe!
