Doctor wants to make medical marijuana legal nationally
Terrasana opens a medical marijuana store at 656 Grandview, becoming the first dispensary to open in Central Ohio. About 50 people waited in the cold to purchase marijuana; Michael Doctor of Columbus was one of the first to emerge with his three packages of cannabis.
Some of Ohio’s first legal marijuana is being harvested at Grow Ohio, a $20 million growing and processing facility near Zanesville.
Built in the rolling hills of Muskingum County, the Grow Ohio marijuana-growing facility has plants that are about three inches high. But in a few months, staff members expect their first crop of medical marijuana plants.
Ohio has chosen the first 11 cultivators for its medical marijuana program, though it could be months before they’re authorized to start producing their crop.
