💰 Follow the Money:
The Host Community Fund, which supports cities that allow dispensaries, would be cut from 36% to 20%, then eliminated entirely. That money would go to the general fund instead of your local roads, housing, and programs.
🚫 HB 160 Add-On:
Employers could fire you for legal cannabis use, even off the clock
Unemployment benefits would be denied to anyone fired for cannabis
🗣️ Community Response:
“This is such bullshit. So if my friends come over… we’re breaking the law?” — Reddit
“Bans all marijuana transfers — makes it illegal to share, gift, or transfer marijuana…” — legislature.ohio.gov
🤔 Why It’s Stalled:
Infighting among Ohio Republicans has paused the bill’s progress. But don’t get comfortable — it’s not dead, just delayed.
🗓️ Where It Stands Now:
SB 56 is awaiting House action. If passed, it will reverse parts of what Ohio voters approved under Issue 2 in 2023.
