The Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has made a significant drug seizure at Hyderabad Airport, confiscating 7.096 kg of hydroponic weed (marijuana) valued at ₹7 crore in the illicit market. The operation unfolded when DRI officials intercepted two Indian passengers arriving from Bangkok on Thursday. Upon inspecting their check-in luggage, authorities discovered 13 vacuum-packed transparent packets cleverly concealed within chocolate wrappers. Testing confirmed the presence of a greenish, lumpy substance, which tested positive for marijuana.Following the seizure, the two passengers were arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985 and have been remanded to judicial custody. The DRI is continuing its investigation to uncover further details surrounding this significant drug trafficking incident.
