People asked for it, so here ya go.

This is how we germinate our landrace cannabis seeds. I use the ziplock bag/paper towel technique with a heat mat set to 90F.

Because many of our seeds are tropical, and require a warm environment for the seeds to germinate, I have had the best success using the ziplock bag/paper towel technique on a heat mat (absolutely need to use a thermostat with your heat mat!!!). Planting tropical seeds into cold soil in March or April is risky as these tropical seeds may stall out or never germinate… so the heat mat ziplock/paper towel technique is the safest technique with the highest rate of germination success for delicate or warm climate seeds- IMO.

This is by no means the only way to germinate seeds. I am just sharing what works for our farm year after year, for the type of seeds we grow.

In our latest Trade To Black podcast, host Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell, along with cannabis lobbyist Don Murphy will unpack a major development in Washington that could shift the future of cannabis rescheduling and marijuana policy. President Trump’s nominee to lead the DEA, Terry Cole, stated during his Senate confirmation hearing that reviewing the federal proposal to reschedule cannabis will be “one of [his] first priorities” if confirmed.

While Cole did not endorse the move to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act, he emphasized it’s “time to move forward” on what’s become a delayed and politically sensitive process.

Murphy was in the room where the announcement was made, he shares which key senators he spoke with and how conversations around marijuana rescheduling are gaining serious momentum.

Pressed further, Cole said he would evaluate the science and form a working group to address the growing disconnect between federal and state marijuana laws.

Plus, former top gun fighter pilot and No Fallen Heroes founder Matthew “Whiz” Buckley will join us to highligh another issue—veterans’ access to psychedelic therapy. As the Trump administration’s second term hits 100 days, VA Secretary Doug Collins acknowledged that psychedelic-assisted therapies like MDMA and ibogaine are finally on the table, even mentioning them during a historic Cabinet-level meeting.

The conversation is heating up—on cannabis reform, marijuana stocks, and veteran health.
