Canada launches review of country’s cannabis legalization
Written by thcscout on . Posted in Legalization. No Comments on Canada launches review of country’s cannabis legalization
Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos said the review was being broadened, however, to examine whether legal cannabis has also made progress in displacing the illegal black market. The review will also take a look at the economic, social and environmental impacts of legalization.
The panel will be led by Morris Rosenberg — a lawyer by background. He also previously served as deputy minister of justice, health and foreign affairs.
The other four members of the panel have not been announced yet. The group plans to hear from the public, governments, Indigenous Peoples, youth, marginalized and racialized communities, cannabis industry representatives and medical cannabis users. Experts in health, substance use, criminal justice and law enforcement will also be consulted. They will have to return with their conclusions within 18 months.

How To & When To: THC Tinctures | Discover Marijuana
Written by thcscout on . Posted in Beginners. No Comments on How To & When To: THC Tinctures | Discover Marijuana
Tinctures are liquids containing herbal extracts (cannabis, in our case), and they’re administered “sublingually,” or under the tongue. They can also be swallowed and absorbed via the digestive system, but the two large veins underneath the tongue allow for faster and better absorption of the compounds in a tincture.
Kylee Shumway, Pharmacist in Charge at WholesomeCo, says the tincture is the “most medical” way to use cannabis. That’s because tinctures can be dosed drop by drop, allowing greater precision than other forms of cannabis consumption.
This level of precision is ideal for a Medical Cannabis patient who’s interested in microdosing or finding the “just right” dose.
Shumway and Blake Smith, Chief Scientific Officer at Zion Medicinal, agree that tinctures can benefit nearly every Medical Cannabis patient.
Talk to Kylee Shumway or your local Medical Cannabis pharmacist to learn about the tinctures that may help with your condition.

The Best Ways to Preserve Your Weed | MERRY JANE News
Written by thcscout on . Posted in Seeds. No Comments on The Best Ways to Preserve Your Weed | MERRY JANE News
A true wine connoisseur will take special precautions when it comes to storing their wine, so why should a weed specialist be any different when it comes to preserving their nugs?
Gone are the days of hiding weed in sandwich baggies or in shoeboxes under the bed. Cannabis deserves better than that, and so do you. Storing pot in the right conditions will help it keep its taste longer, and protect it from the elements that will deteriorate its quality (like heat). And we’re not talking about keeping your marijuana good for just an extra week or two—with some of these methods, your nugs can remain fresh for years after you purchased it. But the best thing about it? You can purchase many of these storage systems without breaking the bank, and once you have everything together, you’ll have the extra benefit of having your collection organized, just like those fancy winos out there.
So check out our in-depth look at storage options above, and get your weed the protection it needs.

How Do I Use a Marijuana Vaporizer? | Discover Marijuana
Written by thcscout on . Posted in Beginners. No Comments on How Do I Use a Marijuana Vaporizer? | Discover Marijuana
Vaporizers intended for use with cannabis are available in a huge range of shapes and sizes. Some models require a power connection and a bit of real estate on your desk or table, at least while you’re using them. Others are portable and easily mistaken for writing utensils.
Some vaporizer devices are also equipped for the dual uses of cannabis flower and concentrates like shatter or wax.
Utah’s Medical Cannabis patients can get raw flower, if OK’d by a Qualified Medical Provider, but they aren’t allowed to smoke it. Dry herb vaporizers, like the PAX 3 or the Firefly 2+, help those patients stay in compliance with the law.
Because vaporizers operate at sub-combustion temperatures, it’s impossible to inhale many of the (often carcinogenic) hydrocarbons found in marijuana smoke.
Many devices allow the user to adjust the temperature, allowing greater control over the specific cannabinoids and terpenes released for inhalation. Delta-9-THC, for example, is released at 315°F/157°C. View the “Activation Temps” guide at UtahMarijuana.org/guides for more!
What are your favorite dry herb vaporizer devices, operating temperatures, and/or strains to use? Let us know in the comments section. Thanks for subscribing!

Both the United States Post Office and Customs agree that shipping cannabis seeds from state to state and into the country is 100% legal.
However, In the United States, the legal status of possessing cannabis seeds varies from state to state. While some states have fully legalized cannabis for both medical and recreational use, others maintain strict prohibitions.
The 2018 Farm Bill, which legalized industrial hemp, classifies hemp as cannabis with less than 0.3% THC content. Since hemp is federally legal, cannabis seeds fall into that classification and is excluded from the Controlled Substance Act.
It is important to exercise caution, as interpretations of federal and state laws can vary. Some states explicitly criminalize the sale and possession of cannabis seeds, even if they do not contain THC.
The legal landscape surrounding cannabis is always changing but my site will always try to stay up to date on it. Some states that previously had strict regulations against cannabis may have changed their laws or regulations since my last update. Additionally, other states may have specific regulations or restrictions on cannabis seeds that are not explicitly mentioned here.
As of my knowledge from research done on August 11th, 2023, The following states are illegal:
Idaho: Idaho has maintained a very strict stance against cannabis. “A producer license authorizes a person or entity to obtain and possess hemp seed for planting; to cultivate and harvest hemp; to transport their own hemp crop; to dispose of or remediate their own hemp; as well as possess and market plant parts.

Kentucky Prohibits Cannabis Seeds, Hemp too: https://www.kyagr.com/marketing/hemp-law.html
Even though the 2018 Farm Bill removes hemp from the controlled substance list, no person can grow, handle (possess), or process hemp plants, viable seed, leaf or floral materials without a hemp license issued by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

Federal Cannabis Legalization News June 2023
Written by thcscout on . Posted in Legalization. No Comments on Federal Cannabis Legalization News June 2023
Cannabis legalization is a hot topic across the world. In recent news, Mexico and Canada have both passed legislation that will legalize recreational use of cannabis. The move marks the first time in history that two of North America’s largest countries have taken such action to regulate the drug’s use.
Other countries and regions are taking notice and considering their own measures for legalizing marijuana. In Europe, Switzerland recently declared its intention to allow limited sale of cannabis in pharmacies starting in 2021. Meanwhile, South Africa is looking set to become the second African country (after Lesotho) to legalize medical marijuana.
These moves come after decades of criminalization and social stigma surrounding the drug – both as a recreational substance and medicine. With these new laws, advocates believe more research can be conducted into potential medical uses for cannabis, which could lead to further breakthroughs in treatment and therapy.

Bipartisan Statehouse bill would legalize marijuana in Ohio
Written by thcscout on . Posted in Legalization. No Comments on Bipartisan Statehouse bill would legalize marijuana in Ohio
State Reps. Jamie Callender (R-Concord Township) and Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) introduced House Bill 168 — also known as the Ohio Adult Use Act — earlier this month. The bill would also allow conviction records for prior cultivation and possession offenses to be expunged.
“Adult-use is good for our economy, good for our justice system, and the right thing to do,” Weinstein said in a news release. “Ohioans are ready to legalize cannabis.”
HB 168 would put a 10% sales tax on adult-use cannabis products. Researchers at Ohio State University estimate the potential annual tax revenue generated from adult-use cannabis in Ohio ranges from $276 million to $374 million in year five of an operational adult-use cannabis market.
